Our Mission

To assist technology inventors and innovators in bringing their ideas to life

Mechatronics System Design

Mechatronics System Design is a engineering and prototyping business, based near Melbourne Australia.

We assist our clients with research, design and development for products and systems that they wish to prototype and test.

What we do

Prototyping Products and Systems

At Mechatronics System Design we specialise in designing and prototyping inventions, products and systems that require multidisciplinary engineering expertise.

Vertical Integration

By vertically integrating the design and development process between different engineering disciplines, there is potential for lower cost and faster completion of projects. We aim to streamline projects keeping as much as possible in house. Outsourcing to multiple specialist contractors for different aspects of your projects can be difficult to manage. When different skilled professionals are required we can act as a single point of contact to better coordinate your project between them.

Project Feasibility Analysis

We do feasibility analysis and assess project requirements to determine the viability of a project and establish clear set of expectations for deliverable outcomes.

Multidisciplinary Engineering

From feasibility analysis to R&D, we aim to covers all aspects, including product design, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, firmware and software programming.

Our clients may have their field of specialisation in which case we fill the roles in the project where other expertise are needed.

Service a Diverse Clientele

We cater to a diverse clientele, ranging from hobbyist makers to startups and established industry businesses.

We can manage new projects or assist with existing projects. We understand the challenges our clients face such as the lack of time, expertise, or resources required to bring their concepts to life.

Custom Robotics and Automation

With our expertise in mechatronics we can help design and develop custom robotic products and automated systems.

Develop Minimum Viable Products

We carry out design, research and development to help our clients to create their minimum viable products. We may not provide turn key solutions as of yet. But we do help our clients in their first steps towards taking their product or system towards commercial use.

Sponsored Student Projects

Mechatronics System Design has partnered with Swinburne University to sponsor a variety of novel student projects for final year engineering students.

Through this initiative, we provide supervision, expertise, and resources, fostering a relationship with the next generation of graduate engineers.

Hybrid Exoskeleton Project

Students worked on spinal exoskeleton for engaging passive support when needed and full freedom of movement when disengaged.

The hybrid design is to allow for electronic control without the requirements of large and heavy motors and batteries.

Training Chess Board with RGB LED

Students worked on a smart electronic chess board that one can use for learning and improving their chess game.

The board detects where all pieces are in the game and illuminates squares to show players legal moves and pieces that are in danger.

Free Roaming Ceiling Robot

Students worked on free roaming robot that is designed to operate and navigate on a ceiling space. Solving a problem of robotic logistics in an environment where floor space may be unavailable.
